Although this summer has been pretty uneventful and I have been relaxing to the max, I had not realized that August is finally here. It wasn’t until my dearest boyfriend said “we are running out of time” this past Monday that it finally hit me. I have four weeks before I hop on a plane and venture out to Spain!
Everything has been going smooth so far, the only bump was in early July when I picked up my student visa and the Consulate misspelled my name. Really? How can you misspell my name when I wrote it out on every page of the App!
What I’ve been doing…
I am doing a lot of reading on Spain’s History, reviewing some grammar and vocab. Going through the list of movies, music and books recommended by the CC-CS. Turns out I have seen a lot of the movies (Thanks to Dr. Meijide) in said list and I already listen to some of the bands listed. Go me!
Eric (my “big brother” from SAU) along with the help from Google, showed me the satellite view of where I will be staying, that was pretty cooooooool. Which reminds me, I have received the name of my host mother and roommate and I am looking forward to meeting both of them =]
Fidel, (my guide/tutor) has been a great resource. He has been telling me a little bit about everything in Spain. He travels a lot due to his job (computer related) and has been giving me ideas of where to go and explore and how to get my trips for cheap prices. We still need to Skype; I really want to hear the acento from Andalucía!
Bruce (the boyfriend) has been mentioning Spain longer than I have and I am eager to see if he will continue to do this as the countdown comes to an end. He is a special man, very supportive, caring, super nice, funny, attentive, the list can go on and on. He has introduced me to a few things here and there this summer; DC Comics’ Green Lantern, Thundercats (which I have been reading about and now I want to major in Snarf Studies!) and he gave me one of his Italian Books from school and now I am trying to teach myself some Italiano! Not too long ago he gave me a lot of music and I went OCD and decided to re-organize all of my music, still working on that. He has been spicing up my summer to say the least and I like it! :D

What I am looking forward to?
The adventure! The food, the people, the culture, the sites, the atmosphere and of course my classes. I will be taking classes at La Universidad de Sevilla with Españoles!
